From a day-to-day perspective, as a paralegal, this means you could spend the morning prepping discovery for criminal matters and the afternoon finalizing interrogatories for a tax abatement matter the City might have. Municipal work is also unique because you don’t have to bill hours, you work for multiple attorneys across multiple practice areas, you don’t get to pick your clients, but in a given day you might interact with people across every level of government.
