Tales from the Crypt, Part III! The Estate Tax Return
Angela M. Gonzalez, SBWCP, and Donald P. Bristol, RP®, Pa.C.P. return with another installment in the popular Tales from the Crypt series of presentations on the paralegal experience in estate, trust, and tax administration.  This installment will focus primarily on the U.S. Estate Tax Return (Form 706), covering all the tasks in collecting and marshaling the necessary information, preparing the tax return, and tips and tricks to avoid pitfalls. Of course, Angie and Don will pepper the discussion with you-had-to-be-there stories they’ve collected over the years - “found” money, phantom beneficiaries, deadline mishaps. Legal Entity Formation and Special Purpose Vehicles
This seminar is geared toward legal professionals and will provide an overview of entity formation and the role of the special purpose vehicle and independent director and/or springing member. The presentation will focus on formation and registration in Delaware. Implied Bias in Law: More concerning than you think
Implied or implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally, that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. Implicit bias in law is thought to be shaped by experience and based on learned associations between particular qualities and social categories, including race, gender and so on. Perceptions and behaviors can be influenced by implicit biases we have even if we are unaware we hold them.
