8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.

• Corporate Compliance
  Professor Steve Naughton will present on compliance issues. Professor Naughton currently serves as the Director of Regulatory Compliance Studies and a Clinical Professor at Loyola University (Chicago) Law School. He is Senior Counsel at Volkov Law Group, which specializes in compliance and investigations.

• E-Discovery and Trial Demonstrative Efficiency for your Firm and your Clients
  Linda Weber will present on forensic collections, effective use of demonstrative exhibits, and collection of forensic evidence from cell phones, ipads, and other electronic devices.  She has over 26 years of experience in the legal industry and is currently the Director of Business Development for Profile Discovery.

• Pro Bono
  Teresa Scharf, OSBA Certified Paralegal with Ulmer & Berne LLP, Christine Flynn, Litigation Paralegal with Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C., and Dianna Parker, Director of Pro Bono & Community Engagement with OSLSA, will present a pro bono roundtable. They will discuss the NFPA Pro Bono committee as well as how to foster pro bono opportunities for paralegals.  In addition, they will present a Pro Bono Workshop in the afternoon that will allow attendees to further engage with the presenters, ask questions, and develop strategies to enhance attendees’ Pro Bono practice.

• Serving LGBTQ+ Clients: Culture Humility & Trauma Informed Representation

  Kate Mozynski, Esq. will discuss her experience in representing the LGBTQ+ community in domestic violence and domestic relations matters. Their presentation will provide meaningful suggestions to promote inclusion and affirming legal practices and educate on terms and terminology when working with LGBTQ+ clients. Kate is an attorney with Equality Ohio Legal Clinic.  Their practice has included international human rights law, immigration law, international criminal law, and inmate civil rights litigation. They are passionate about working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and working to extend legal representation to individuals across Ohio. When they are not at work, Kate also coaches high school policy debate, and is devoted to helping make Ohio debate a supportive educational environment for LGBTQ+ students.

  David Roberts, RPR, CRR, CMRS of Veritext will present issues concerning complex cases. • Animal Rights Law
  Magistrate Christopher Greene will join us to discuss Animal Rights Law. His presentation will include issues relating to animals concerning ownership rights, property and criminal law, and wills and trusts. Magistrate Greene has practiced law for the past 32 years including being a prosecutor and assistant law director. He has also been teaching in higher education for 20 years. He currently serves as a magistrate/judge for 2 local courts.
