Consumers have a wide variety of mobile messaging platforms that they can freely use on a daily basis. While this opportunity benefits the average consumer, it also benefits bad actors looking to hide or obfuscate communication. Furthermore, with an increased societal and regulatory concern on consumer privacy, we have also seen an influx of communication applications that heavily leverage end-to-end encryption, or designed ephemerality.
