NFPA 2021 Convention • Hilton Portland Downtown
Nurture, Flourish, Participate, Aspire in Portland
Join us for NFPA’s 2021 Convention!
2021 has presented our communities with difficult decisions in terms of the correct approach to “return to normal” while also attempting to ensure everyone’s health and safety. As a result, NFPA, Oregon Paralegal Association (OPA), and Management HQ have partnered to present NFPA’s 2021 Annual Convention as a hybrid convention. We hope that the hybrid format will provide an opportunity for all members to attend: whether you are physically and financially able to travel or whether you are unable to travel for any reason, including financial restrictions, pandemic or other social and health concerns, or employer or home state-mandated travel restrictions. All attendees will have access to NFPA's Whova virtual platform & mobile app to network with each other and with exhibitors. In this way, the 2021 Convention Committee hopes that all of us will be able to "see" old friends, "meet" new friends, and experience all aspects of the virtual exhibitor booths.
The Annual Convention provides you an opportunity to attend continuing legal education sessions, network with paralegals from across the country, and set policy during the policy meeting. Participate in Convention and return to your local associations and workplaces with fresh ideas, knowledge and excitement.
Check out the details below and register to join us!

Social event will be held on Friday evening at Punch Bowl Social where attendees can network with colleagues from across the country. Punch Bowl Social’s scratch kitchen, craft cocktails and experiential gaming like karoke, bowling and a vintage arcade make Punch Bowl the destination for fooding and funning.
NFPA is pleased to welcome Oregon Supreme Court Chief Justice Martha L. Walters as this year’s keynote speaker. Learn more about Chief Justice Walters.

Annual Convention Charity
Multnomah CourtCare© is a project of the Multnomah Bar Foundation (MBF) that improves access to justice by making free, drop-in childcare available for families who have business at the court. The program is located in the downtown Central Courthouse in Portland. The MBF operates 3 successful programs that support the courts, assist the community with access to justice, and strengthen relationships between the courts and the community. One of those programs, CourtCare©, is the 2021 Convention charity.
CourtCare© is operated by Volunteers of America Oregon and serves 80 to 100 children and their families each month, serving over 18,000 since opening in December 2001. In addition to being a safe, convenient location for parents to leave their children, this program reduces the number of rescheduled court appointments and removes the potential that children might witness conflicts or disrupt court business.
During the run-up to the 2021 Convention, the convention committee will be featuring information on CourtCare©, and encouraging our members to support this program. At convention, look for other opportunities to support CourtCare© by purchasing raffle tickets or by making a donation. Support for CourtCare© is people helping people.
