Most of NFPA's members are through local member paralegal associations across the United States. Individual membership in any of our member associations includes membership with NFPA.
Member benefits include discounts on NFPA Annual Convention rates, annual Joint Conference rates and a subscription to the National Paralegal Reporter magazine as well as preferred rates at several retailers and web sites.
Designed as a grassroots organization, NFPA® encourages individuals and representatives from member associations to become involved nationally by serving as a Coordinator, as a Committee member, or as a member of the national Board of Directors.
Members raise issues for research, study, and review by the appointed Coordinators and ad hoc committees. The entire membership will receive a report based on the data gathered by these groups. The issues may be raised during a national meeting.
At the conventions, NFPA members adopt a democratic process of discussion, debate and vote to address the issues. Each local association, regardless of its size, has one vote. To be adopted, all policy positions must be passed by a two-thirds majority.
Individual members are also encouraged to participate in NFPA through submission of agenda topics for debate at conventions and participation on chats and list serves.
Individuals may join NFPA via the purple button at the top of this page or the PDF version of the membership application. Please note: Membership is not available to those who are currently incarcerated.
