This presentation reviews the best way to preserve evidence on multiple social media platforms and what is required to obtain it. This session will also review the different types of formats in which the evidence is provided from social media platforms and how to go through that material. There will be actual examples shown and discussed, as well as handouts provided.
1. Knowing what information the most popular platforms retain and for how long.
2. Knowing what information is required in a preservation letter and where to find it.
3. What will be provided with a subpoena and what will be provided with a search warrant.
4. Understanding what formats the information will be obtained and how to go through it.
