This program will present new family law cases, rules, and legislative updates from the past 12 months. The speakers will discuss recent appellate cases regarding family law practice, covering topics such as child custody, child support, pensions, marital property/monetary awards, dissipation, contribution, appellate acquiescence rule, alimony, MDEC/Case Search/entry of judgment, sufficiency of pleadings, enforceability of religious/Islamic marriage contracts (mahr), enforcement issues, attorneys’ liens, as well as evidentiary issues. They will also address the impact of recent Rules (e.g., Parenting Plans) and legislation (e.g., shared custody child support guidelines revisions).
