2010 Scholarship Opportunities
NFPA awards three scholarships annually: The PACE Scholarship for a paralegal seeking to sit for the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam, and two scholarships for paralegal students sponsored by Thomson Reuters - one for $3,000 and one for $2,000. Below are the topics for both the PACE Scholarship essasy and the Thomson Reuter's scholarhsip opportunities. The application forms will be available on or before March 15, 2010.
Thomson Reuters' Scholarships Essay Topic:
Pro bono providers, such as lawyers/bar associations in many states do not include paralegals and/or paralegal students in pro bono projects. Although these providers do solicit lawyers to participate, the request does not include non-lawyers. How would you encourage pro bono providers to utilize paralegals and paralegal students to assist in providing pro bono services to those in need?
PACE Scholarship Essay Topic:
How can the PACE registered paralegal credential benefit the paralegal profession?
