  • A paralegal can definitely represent added value for any legal practice. But beware the possibility of bumps in the road. For both the lawyer and the paralegal, there are practical ramifications to engaging in and aiding in the unauthorized practice of law. As a paralegal or other legal professional, it is up to you to be aware of the boundaries, legal issues and proceedings surrounding UPL. Many times the attorneys you work with are not fully aware of these "gray areas" themselves!
