NCAPA MEMBER HONORED FOR PRO BONO LEADERSHIP

The Affiliates and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) are pleased to announce the selection of Lori Thompson, longtime chair of pro bono for the National Capital Paralegal Association (NCAPA), for The Affiliates 2000 Pro Bono Award for an Individual. The announcement was made at NFPA's fall convention, at which Thompson was presented with a plaque by The Affiliates. In addition, the sponsor will make a donation to the pro bono project named by Thompson, a paralegal with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Thompson develops projects and places paralegals to assist NCAPA's pro bono partners in the District of Columbia, northern Virginia, and Maryland. Because of her expertise, she has been invited to serve on pro bono boards throughout these areas, and she does hands-on pro bono work as well. She is active on NFPA's Pro Bono Committee, where she has been instrumental in updating the pro bono directory.
