12 Promises Productions and NFPA are pleased to announce that the video "Paralegals: Enhancing Practice, Professionalism and Profitability," sponsored by West Group, has been named winner of a 2000 Telly Award.

Founded in 1980, the Telly Awards recognize excellence in non-network and cable commercials, film and video productions. The awards program has grown steadily, with over 11,000 entries in 1999. The entries are judged by top production professionals.

Says National Federation of Paralegal Associations Inc.'s (NFPA) President Sally Andress, RP, "The idea for this video as a means to educate law school students about utilizing paralegal services came from NFPA's members through the 1999 Strategic Long Range Plan survey. The video will be a valuable tool to educate both new and practicing lawyers of benefits they can realize by including paralegals on the legal services team."

The video was first shown to delegates at NFPA's 2000 spring convention. It is now available for purchase at $35 per copy from NFPA headquarters. Interested purchasers may e-mail info@paralegals.org, call (816) 941-4000, or fax to (816) 941-NFPA. Each NFPA member association has received a complimentary copy.

Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, West Group is a leading publisher in the legal field, supplying both print and electronic references volumes to the legal community. Besides sponsoring the video, West Group presents two scholarships annually to paralegal students through a competition administered by NFPA.

12 Promises Productions and Post Meridian Promotions, both based in Dallas, Texas, produced the video for NFPA. By partnering on short-form and long-form projects, they have parlayed their writing, producing, directing, promoting and editorial talents into a multiple award winning, full-service production team. According to Post Meridian Promotions director and editor Kurt Boxdorfer, teamwork during all phases of video production was the key.

Boxdorfer said, "By having Patty Markle of Post Meridian Promotions and Terri Howard-Hughes of 12 Promises Productions produce this important project, I couldn't have asked for a better result. We are excited to have delivered on the vision described to us by NFPA President Sally Andress and look forward to any future opportunities." For more information about this team. call Terri Howard-Hughes at (877)937-1277.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, NFPA is a non-profit professional organization representing more than 17,000 paralegals in the United States and Canada. NFPA is the national voice and the standard for excellence for the paralegal profession through its work on the issues of regulation, ethics and education.
