CENTRAL CONNECTICUT ASSOCIATION SETS THE PACE
The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) is pleased to announce the selection of the Central Connecticut Paralegal Association as recipient of the 2002 PACE Ambassador Award. The award was initiated to recognize annually an NFPA member association that has made superior efforts in developing its local PACE Ambassador program to promote the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) to its members and its local legal community.
The award was presented at NFPA's Spring Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the association's PACE Ambassador, Sharon Mason, RP. To date, 41 members of this association have passed PACE. Based on the statistics on NFPA's web site at www.paralegals.org, Central Connecticut has more PACE Registered Paralegals than any other NFPA member association in the nation.
The association has achieved this level by consistently sponsoring PACE study groups, offering regular professional seminars, publicizing its own review courses and other courses in its area, and developing a bank of study materials. The association sends letters of congratulation to employers of its members who pass PACE and recognizes at its annual employer luncheon all paralegals who have passed the exam since the last luncheon.
Originally formed in 1979 as the Greater Hartford chapter of the Connecticut Association of Paralegals, Central Connecticut was incorporated as a non-profit corporations in 1982.
